What to Expect During Massage Session
At your first appointment you will be asked to complete a health form, providing details of your current state of health and a brief history of your health to ensure that you benefit fully from your treatment. Please arrive about five minutes early to allow time for this.
You will be shown into the therapy room and instructed how to position yourself on the massage table, you will then be given privacy while you undress to your comfort level – most clients choose to undress completely or simply undress to a point where you are comfortable. During the massage only the part of the body that is being worked on is uncovered. If you are uncomfortable with any aspect of the massage you should inform the therapist immediately.
The room will be warm and quiet, with soft music to set a relaxing mood. Relaxation music is not universally the same for everyone and this time is meant to be about you – you may not share our taste in music and we won’t be offended if you say so! If you would like to bring your own music that is fine by us!
A typical one-hour body massage covers the neck, back, arms, legs, face, upper chest and scalp. You will be asked if the level of pressure is to your liking, please ensure you provide feedback as this will maximise the benefits of your treatment. After your massage is finished, you will be given privacy while you dress.
