What is Reiki
Reiki (pronounced “Ray-key”) is a simple Japanese energy-balancing method that is used by hundreds of thousands of people all over the world. It is most well known as a sort of hands-on treatment technique, but most “Reiki practitioners” actually use Reiki for their own benefit too, by working with energy and treating themselves.
Reiki was developed by Mikao Usui in the early 1900s in Japan. He created a simple self-healing, spiritual development and treatment system that anyone could use. Eventually Reiki passed to the West and it is now practised all over the world.
Usui developed his system to help his students find their spiritual path and achieve enlightenment. Treating others was a side issue. If you have learned Reiki for yourself, then you can treat yourself. This is a wonderful relaxing process that will leave you feeling content, comforted and at peace with yourself and the world. You can “self-treat” every day!
